What is Firmware?
Firmware refers to the applications and operating system that control how the EVF operates. It is called firmware to highlight that it is very closely tied to the particular hardware components of the device. The firmware is flashed into the ROM of the Electronic Viewfinder. Firmware updates are build by the manufacturer (TVLogic inc.) and provided by the distributor (Alphatron Broadcast) as a way to fix bugs or introduce new functionality.
When should I upgrade?
We generally do not recommend updating firmware unless you are directed to do so by tech support.
WARNING: Installing new firmware at own risk
